Course Refletion

Through these days’study, we have used a lot of software and web pages to help us study and work in the future. For example, there are questionnaires, calssdojo and so on,some web pages to help us manage the students in the future, but also learned how to make our own website, for our future work is also very beneficial. And  make video ourselves, it is a good technology. We will have a great help in the future. And through these days about group cooperation, also let us closer to unity and cooperation, let us know the importance of deeper insights.Meanwhile,we connected all course to the ISTE,we find that all of these courses are helpful for us,we can know its connection in ISTE.In the future,when I become a teacher,I will teach my students about these website and blog,not only let them work by themselves,but also give them more chances to find a good work in their future.

If I am a teacher,I want us Wenjuanxing,digital storytelling,and video creation.First,I find many different functions in Wenjuanxing,I know that it can do some exams for children too.So I think,the age are changing,we can’t use too much paper tests to exam our children,we should let them study in a new way.If we let children take the exam on Wenjuanxing,maybe they will feel relax,and don’t have too much pressure.On the other hand,there are answers and analysises on Wenjuanxing.I think it is a good way to help children study.Then I want use the digital storytelling to help children study.it uses new digital tools to help ordinary people to tell real-life stories,it is the practice of combining narrative with digital content, including images, sound, and video, to create a short movie, typically with a strong emotional component.It help us organize their ideas as they learn to create stories for an audience, and presenting their ideas and knowledge in an individual and meaningful way.We all know that people like to see some interesting things,so if we change the old teaching way,and use the digital storytelling,we can make the study more intertsting and funny.For example,we create a piano lesson,maybe remember too much notes is difficult for 5 to 6 years old children,but if we replace the note to the some little animals,the note will become vivid,and we can help children remember these notes.We also can create some stories to these notes,it’s convinent for children to study the piano.Finally,I like the video creation,because it connect our brain to our speaking.First we should make a plan about how to make a video,what we should speak and how to design the video.Because our lesson is to teach children,so the video should be simple for them to understand.And then,the video should look beautiful,let people want to watch.Our voice should be clear for them to listen.It is a special challange for us to make a video.Of course,the content is the most important thing.

I think I willnot use the rubric,audio editing and the padlet.Because I think the rubric’s function isnot full than the Wenjuanxing,and its operation is complex than Wenjuanxing.It’s not convinent to send the rubic to everyone because they should need VPN.Let’s talk about the audio editing,I think only someone’s voice can’t catch people’s attention.So video is a good way for us to study.Finally is the padlet.Although it is a very excellent way to make a website.But I think the system is a little complex for me to operate.

In our team work,I think we share out the work and cooperate with one other is the best way to complete the work.Maybe the progress is complex,only one people cannot do a good work.But we cooperate and discuss the work,we can complete the work more excellent.The second one is we use our advantages to work.Everyone has different merits,someone is good at making the website,someone is good at making a video.So we choose bring our superiority into full play.Finally we study from each other,maybe the other group member will know something that I don’t know.But it still have some points that we should be avioded.First,we can’t work only by personal willingness,we should concern about other member’s opinion and think whether it is suitable for children to study.Second,someone will be lazy,we should make sure that everyone join in the work and do some contribution to our group.Finally,we should listen to other people’s thinking and add to our plan.It can make our work do better.

In my opinion,digital storytelling is the best thing for me that I will use it in my future teaching.I am interested in these way,because it has many fun things and it has many charms to attart people.It’s my strong points,I’m good at speaking,combining speaking with the technology with give me more chances to show myself.But I also have some weak points,I’m not good at design a website.I don’t know how to make the website look beautiful and I think the operation is difficult for me.I want to add more element in my website but I don’t know how to set them.So my website is simple and common.I will try to study more about how to create a website in the future.

I studied many knowledges in this courses,if I have the chance to be a teacher,I will teach them what I have learned.Although it isn’t some frofessional knowledges,but they can’t only remember some knowledges in the book,they should study more skills.It has many benefits to work in the future.Express my thankfulness to my teacher Dr.Wang.

Day Seven

Online Questionnaire, Worksheet, and Quizzes

Today we use the polleverywhere, wenjuanxing, and testmoz to do some surveys about the piano lesson.Through using them,I found some pros and cons about these three functions.

Software  is easy to use, these surveys is also very convenient to popularize, but there is a disadvantage, it is the representation of the questionnaire results is not strong, although it can gather many questionnaires, but the questionnaire need people to sent to friends or relatives, to let them develop investigation. But the data is clearly targeted at a group of people, not people in every field. So I think the problem needs to be improved. But we have to admit that the benefits of the survey software is also very good, not only make the questionnaire very convenient, but also access to the questionnaire and statistics also is very convenient too, at present the software utilization rate is very high.

There are many other functions of the Wenjuanxing. For example, the chart can be viewed through the bar chart and the pie chart, and the time period, region and website of the source of the answer are analyzed.It can create a custom report, and you can select a collection of qualified responses based on the time, source area and website of the questionnaire. You can also import the questionnaire directly into the document, and you can pass it from QQ, WeChat, SMS, email various channels to issue questionnaires. After completion of completion, the backstage will automatically generate the statistical chart.

In addition, there are also test systems for the questionnaire, it will be used to build a library of questions,and be selected randomly from the test library in the exam. Candidates can query the results on the exclusive query page and set the correct answers and scores on the test questions.We can use the questionnaire to evaluate students, they don’t have the pressure of the ordinary test,and it can test the students as usual. Day Six

Today we study about the digital storytelling.Digital storytelling,it uses new digital tools to help ordinary people to tell real-life stories,it is the practice of combining narrative with digital content, including images, sound, and video, to create a short movie, typically with a strong emotional component.It can be instructional, persuasive, historical, or reflective and can be effectively applied to nearly any subject.Now digital storytelling was used in education,it can help us learn to conduct research, synthesize large amounts of content, gain expertise in the use of digital communication and authoring tools,meanwhile,it help us organize their ideas as they learn to create stories for an audience, and presenting their ideas and knowledge in an individual and meaningful way.Through the research,they find that digital storytelling helped students organize and express their idea and knowledge in an individual and meaningful way,enhanced employability portfolio development,increased social skills for children with disabilities and increased reading,motivation and engagement.It also can build student technology skills.

It’s a great way to use multimedia to tell a story, but it’s also difficult. The storytelling for professional requirement is very high, we need to consider how to combine multimedia with the story, and convey to the audience, let them understand the content and what we want to express. At the same time, we should consider how to make the audience’s emotions and attract the attention of the audience. And digital storytelling has a high demand for digital devices. We talk about what to say in the team,and solve the problem.In the future,if someone want to use digital storytelling,I think they should have some professional skill,and think about what they want to express.

Day Five

Audio Editing
Today we made a audio.In day four,we created a course about piano.Our curriculum is set for five days, with high symbols, bass symbols, sitting, gestures, keyboard, five lines, and a complete song. Each person introduces different content, because the teaching objective is 5-6 years old, so our content is relatively simple.

My job is to introduce to children the five – line and the sharp note and the flat note. The five lines are composed of five parallel lines, and the area between the lines and the lines is called the intersections. It’s the first line, the first room, the second line, and the second room an so on. But the difficulty is that the children are difficult to understand the top line and the bottom line which are added, because we should connect the high-pitched clef and the bass clef to the top and bottom to help children understand.

Then I introduce the sharp note and the flat note.It’s in the five lines of the head where the note is located,indicates that the note is raised or lowered by a half tone.

There is a black key on the right or left of the white key.

It is also difficult for children to learn the sharp and the flat. We think a lot about how to teach them to understand. And the keys on the piano are different, so I decided to anthropomorphize the keyboard to help children understand the black key and the white key, the sharp and the flat.

Video Creation

Before recording, we have some questions about video. Whether it’s a group recording or recording separately. So we asked Dr. Wang, she told us to record  separately and upload it to the Internet. Then we used the phone to record the lecture and then uploaded it to Youku. The network is not very good, so we took some time to upload the video.

   We recorded a video to show how we taught our children to learn the piano. Of course, this video is that we have been able to do through consulting, planning, and implementing. First we discussed the specific content of the recording and considered how to record it. We decided to sort out the content and then find some corresponding pictures to explain to the students, so as to help students understand what they are learning. But there were a lot of problems in the recording process, such as the noise of the environment, it’s too loud, so we tried several times. And the pictures we found were on the computer, so we needed to combine the drafts with the pictures on the computer. Second, how to teach students can help them understand what they learned  faster and improve in a short period of time. Because the students are five or six years old, we have to teach them in simple English, without using too many technical terms. We can’t spend too much time in one class, because the children of five or six don’t have high attention, so we have to teach the children the highest efficiency in a short period of time.

Day Four

Website Design

Today teacher teached us how to design a website.We had seven members in the team,and we took division of labor cooperation.Some people started to create a website,some people did some assignments,my friend and me researched some materials.We can show our materials and researchs on the website.There are some contents on the web page,for example,some datas and some pictures,throuth the website we can open it and start to browse.But the document page record some datas,and we must download it.The web page have more contents than the document page,we also could make a chained address.It has more functions.

A website is a communication tool, like a bulletin board, where people can publish information they want to publish, or use a website to provide relevant web services. People can access the site through a web browser.But the steps which you should make are too complex,so you must advance to prepare it.You must have  a theme.According to this theme,you should find some datas,some pictures,some articles,and some links and so on.

We also encountered some difficulties in designing our website. We make about the piano page,when we look for on the piano in the process of picture books, we want to show some books that be able to side of the notes to identify the guidance to the child, on the other side it can tell children some music small storys. But this kind of book is very few, so we searched a lot of information, found many pages to find the right book. Meanwhile,the age range of our study was kindergarten to primary school children, so we are looking for the book must be consisted with the child’s age, what kind of book could step by step to make children raise the level of the piano. How to start to learn the piano from zero basis of the children, these all are the problems we need to study and think.

I think it has two parts in ISTE standards.One is develop and model cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with colleagues and students of other cultures using digital age communication and collaboration tools.The other is participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning.First,it help us to work together and to have a clear division of labor so that work can be proceed smoothly. Second, learning to make a website also helps us to add a new job skill that can be used in future work. Third, we through making display web pages can be seen all over the world, they were able to comment on, also can communicate with us, that we can have more opportunity to communicate with the world. Day Three

My experience with class management software: classdojo

classdjToday,Dr.Wang introduce a special software for us.It is ClassDojo.ClassDojo is a good bridge for teacher to communicate with parents.Parents can know their children’s life in the school everywhere and everytime.You can learn more ideas from this page.They have more times to communicate with teacher,and help children be better.Meanwhile,ClassDojo can ecaluate children’s daily action,it could manage the calss better.When children do some good things,teacher think it’s a right behavior,and give them some points.But if children do some bad things,for example,children didn’t do their homework,teacher will minus some points.Let children know what is right and what is wrong.Parents also can know this points,it help them educate their children at home.Meanwhile,we can make a second chronograph,in order to let children complete their work in the set time.It not only can cultivate children’s sense of time,but also can let them know they must complete their work as quickly as possible,and not be an absquatulater.

In the future,I will be a teacher.If i have the change,i want to use ClassDojo to help children study and let parents know their children’s behavior.Let parents know what they do in the school,and then children can take the next step to study.We all know in China,parents communicate with teacher once a year or twice.Parents can’t actually know children’s life in school,so i want use ClassDojo to strength the connection with parents,let them know more about children,and let parents teach children at home.

So if I am a teacher,I want to use ClassDojo to let parents know children’s daliy life in school,and help myself to manage children.Make the class manage simply.

Integrating electronic white board in classroom teaching

Padlet is a good website that i can post text, audio, video, file, website links, and take photos.Afternoon,teacher introduced the Padlet to us,i used it and felt that it is a special website.I can use Padlet to design my own board.I like cartoon,so i add some cartoon pictures as my backboard.

I used it,and think Padlet is a very simple way for people to cooperate and create some new things,and also show special characters to everyone.And also,i can design my website with my friends,making the website more beautiful.

It also reflect some content in ISTE.Develop and model cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with colleagues and students of other cultures using digital age communication and collaboration tools and participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning.It is convinent for us to study or work.In the future,if the boss ask us to design a beautiful website,Padlet can help me maximumly.

Day Two

Introduction on the flipped classroom

In the morning ,we talked about the flipped classroom.

I think flipped classroom is different from the fomal classroom.We can research the materials by ourselves,and gain a deeper understanding.The information needs us to complete autonomous learning after class,through some meatures such as video,discuss with other students,or consult the materials which we will need.

We can also plan our learning content,learning rhythm and different styles.I think this approach can be extremely satisfying for our personalized learning.

Working experiences on creating a lesson plan with the flipped classroom teaching model

I think this way can give us more times to discuss with the teacher and be responsible for ourselves.It’s not boring like before,I can design my study style like I am a teacher, and I need to think how to teach my children.It make me have high attention to do my work.We all know people like to do something that make them have a big interest.So now I have a big interest in the flipped classroom.I have many special and new ideas about how to teach children and design my class,now I can use them and have my own personalized class.

Meanwhile,we have seven people in this team,so we should discuss together and coact.It obviously is a good working experience for me.Flipped classroom also make my feel relax,not so nervous than before.

I think the most important thing is that now I have a positive attitude to study.That is the biggest advantage for me.

My experiences on working on the survey

Throuth working on the survey,we must think about which kind of class will get more benefits for children,how to make children study more,and what they should study.We make a survey about piano,for example,which kind of class can make children have more interest,parents whether want their children to study the piano.

It means we should stand on the part of the children ,and think about how to design the class can make them like the piano,and want to study the piano themselves.We should consider about children’s feeling.We also have some questions in design of the class.Some people think it’s not suitable for five-years-old children to study,but other people think it could.So we have a long-time discuss,and finally we get a good project,every person is satisfy with this survey.

My name is Zhang Xiaoye, and my English name is Lucia. I am from Xuzhou, Jiangsu province. I am a sophomore student of Tianhua college and currently engaged in preschool education.
